Concept ‘M’ is a metallic canopy for the turnpike highway of Rabat, Morocco.
Made of 100% Moroccan expertise, this exceptional artwork is conceived by the Moroccan designer Hicham Lahlou and executed by metal frame manufacturers, Inter Tridim.
Through its innovative concept and the quality of execution, the canopy is like no other in Morocco and in the African continent.
An exceptionally technical element; the metallic canopy of 100 meters long with a width of 15 meters is laid directly on three special support beams. The thickness of the roofing does not exceed 1.10 meters as drawn by the designer which is a worldwide record.
With the use of the latest technologies, the designers detailed artwork and ideas to integrate the natural element, “earth to sky” perspective like airplane wings and the overextended letter ‘M’ representing the initial of the Kingdom of Morocco were a success.
An interesting feature to the canopy is the metallic artwork which extends and retracts to around 30mm depending on the season. This elongation was made possible through sliding supports laid on the two lateral main supports.
